🎭 YOUR CHOICE
Turns out our perspective really drives our happiness…and everyday we get to choose what our perspective will be. To be honest this is a tough one for me sometimes, but Fast Company has a good piece on how we see the world, and how that impacts our happiness.
Taking time to think about these things is all a part of being intentional.
📈 HITTING YOUR PEAK
Ever wonder if you’ve peaked? Apparently there is a lot calculus that goes into a question like that…are we talking professionally, mentally, physically, etc. Great article, again from Fast Company, on the study of our personal performance.
⌚ FIND TIME FOR YOURSELF
You spend all day working for someone else…making sure you get all your ‘deliverables’ in and respond to all those emails, regardless of how pointless you think they might be. You wash your dishes in the break room and routinely stay late, just so you’ll be “ready to go” in the morning. After you sit in traffic, or fight the commuters on the train you finally get home. Totally exhausted. You had plans to work on “INSERT YOUR PASSION PROJECT HERE” – but now all you want to do is pour a drink and sink into the couch.
The good people over at Dear Art Director have a point of view…written specifically for “creatives” (which I think could classify us all in some way, albeit perhaps not professionally) this
piece has broad applicability if you can step back from the fog of your own job.

📘 CONSIDER THIS
Currently reading: Disrupted.
The new Dan Lyons book should have us all rethinking corporate culture: The biggest story in tech last week wasn’t an IPO or Facebook’s developer conference. It was the release of a sensational, scandal-brewing book: Disrupted: My Misadventure in the Start-up Bubble. The memoir, written by Dan Lyons, a journalist and a writer for HBO’s Silicon Valley, offers a scathing account of what it’s like to work in tech…
